The Carnegie Institution is a beautiful historic landmark nestled between Dupont Circle and Logan Circle in the heart of Washington, D.C. Completed in 1908 as the administrative building for Andrew Carnegie’s institution for discovery, the facility still houses staff dedicated to furthering the philanthropist’s mission.

Via the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro):
Take the Red Line to Dupont Circle station. Use the Dupont Circle North exit (20th and Q Street). Upon reaching the surface, head east on Q Street toward 19th. Proceed four blocks east on Q Street until you reach 16th Street. Turn right on 16th Street and head south one block to P Street. The building is located on the Southeast corner of 16th and P Street.
Alternatively, take the Green or Yellow Line to U Street station. The Carnegie Institution is an approximately mile walk from this station (about 20 minutes). Upon reaching the surface on U Street, turn left onto 13th Street NW. Continue approximately four blocks until you reach Logan Circle. At the circle, take the first exit onto P Street and continue three blocks. The Carnegie Institution will be on your left.
The Carnegie Institution is also reachable via the Orange, Blue or Silver Lines at Farragut West station.

Directions from Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA):
The Carnegie Institution of Washington is approximately 15 minutes by car or a Metro ride from Reagan National Airport.
Traveling by Metro:
There is a Metro stop in the airport. It serves two Metro lines (Blue and Yellow), either of which can be used to reach the Red Line and the Carnegie Institution’s closest stop, Dupont Circle (a three-block walk, see above). From the Airport station, take either the Yellow Line to Gallery Place-Chinatown or the Blue Line to Metro Center. From either station, transfer to the Red Line to Dupont Circle, then follow the Metro directions above.
